Local Pizzeria Offers Obama & Pelosi Specials

Local St. Louis business owner Russell Clark is offering an “Obama Special” and a “Pelosi Special” at his Cecil Whittaker’s Pizzeria. The restaurant is located in south St. Louis at 9975 A Lin Ferry, 63123.

With “The Obama” you pay for an extra large and get a small. With the “Pelosi Special” – “We’ll tell you what you’re getting.” The “Government Special” is, of course, “all pork.”

Russell says that most of his customers get a kick out of the sign. Please, stop by and give them some business. The pizza is delicious!

Close Your Eyes… Now Imagine George W. Bush With a Record 9.5% Unemployment Rate

If you ever wondered about the depth of corruption in the state-run media is, read this…

Barack Obama is the worst jobs president since the Great Depression and possibly is the worst jobs president in US History.

(Source: US Misery Index)

The democrats wanted to fundamentally change America. They did.
The US unemployment rate has not fallen below 10.8 percent in the last 12 13 months. This is unprecedented.

And then there’s this…
Jobless claims rose “unexpectedly” last week to the highest level in 9 months.

But you sure wouldn’t know Obama is the worst jobs president since the Great Depression from the state-run media. They sure aren’t going to bring that up before the election!

Now compare the non-reporting on Obama’s failed policies to the reporting during the Bush years.
The Media Research Center reported on how the corrupt media discussed the 5.4 unemployment rate during the election in 2004.

When Bill Clinton ran for re-election in 1996, the unemployment rate was 5.2 percent, inflation was three percent and economic growth was 2.2 percent. Sound good? The economy is just as good, if not better, right now: the unemployment rate is 5.4 percent, inflation is 2.7 percent, and economists’ consensus forecast for economic growth this quarter is 3.7 percent.

Yet a new study by Dan Gainor, Director of the MRC’s Free Market Project, found that while the national media mainly cheered the Clinton economy in 1996 (85 percent positive), reporters have mostly jeered the Bush economy in 2004 (77 percent negative). Two 2004 stories were judged as neutral.

Even when the economy was producing 144,000 jobs a month and the unemployment rate was 5.4% in September 2004 the state-run media twisted the story into a negative.
The Media Research Center again reported:

The unemployment rate fell a tenth to 5.4 percent in August as 144,000 jobs were created during the month and the job creation number for July was revised upward by more than double, from 32,000 to 73,000 new jobs, but all the networks on Friday night managed to turn the Labor Department numbers, released that morning, into a negative.

CBS’s John Roberts ran a soundbite of President Bush touting the 5.4 percent rate, but then he undermined the good news: “What the President didn’t say was that the employment numbers in August again fell short of expectations, and it is now certain he will end his first term as the first President since the Great Depression to lose jobs on his watch.” Roberts grew even more dire as he stressed how “the situation is worse than it seems. While the President touts the results of his economic recovery plan, job creation hasn’t kept up with population growth.”

…Later, on CNN’s NewsNight, John King offered only a brief mention of the subject in a larger campaign story: “The President sought a silver lining in new economic data that Democrats suggest is a major Bush weakness, a modest addition of just 200,000 jobs the past two months.” Joe Johns highlighted a charge made by Kerry: “My friends, at the rate that this administration is creating jobs, you’re not going to have a net-plus one job in the state of Ohio until the year 2011!”

The corrupt media even reported a Clinton unemployment rate of 5.4% as good but declared a Bush unemployment rate of 5.0% as bad.

That is how the state-run media reported the unemployment rate when it was 5% during the Bush years. Could you even imagine if that number would have been close to 10% like it is today? They would have lynched Bush and Cheney on the White House lawn. And yet you don’t hear the democratic-media complex saying boo about Obama’s failed economic policies despite the fact that Obama himself took ownership of the economy over a year ago.

Now tell me the leftwing media is not corrupt!

A Year After Claiming Economy Was His… Obama Blames Bush Again

Worst. President. Ever.
A year ago Obama was bragging to audiences that the economy was his…
“Give It To Me!”

But, that was before his disastrous policies took effect and stifled growth, increased unemployment and raised debt to dangerous new levels.
Now, he’s out blaming Bush again.
The Hill reported:

President Obama this summer has repeatedly blamed George W. Bush for the nation’s economic woes, a year after he took ownership of the economy and criticized those who “carp and gripe.”

The White House’s effort to tie congressional Republicans to Obama’s predecessor comes less than three months before the midterm elections. But the president’s campaign speeches this summer contrast to a speech he delivered in Michigan last year when his approval ratings were 17 points higher.

During a July 14, 2009, address in Warren, Mich., Obama said, “Now, my administration has a job to do, as well, and that job is to get this economy back on its feet. That’s my job. And it’s a job I gladly accept. I love these folks who helped get us in this mess and then suddenly say, ‘Well, this is Obama’s economy.’ That’s fine. Give it to me. My job is to solve problems, not to stand on the sidelines and carp and gripe.”

At the time, the AP wrote, “With four simple words — ‘Give it to me’ – President Barack Obama took possession of the economy.”

Throughout this year, Obama has blamed Bush and the criticism has intensified this month.

On Aug. 9 in Bush’s home state of Texas, Obama said the ex-president’s “disastrous” policies had damaged the economy, noting that Bush inherited budget surpluses and ended his time in the White House with a budget deficit.

During a fundraiser with Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.) in Seattle this week, Obama said, “Eighteen months ago I took office after nearly a decade of economic policies that had given us sluggish growth, sluggish job growth, falling incomes, falling wages and a record deficit.”

What an awful leader.

Reminder: Obama’s Played More Golf in 2 Yrs. Than Bush Did Both Terms

Between 2000 and 2008 one of the left’s most cherished ways to ridicule President Bush was to point out how often he went golfing. Bush’s golfing was a clear sign that he was ignoring the work he had to do in Washington and that he just didn’t care they claimed. He was a playboy, a goof off, a time waster. But now that Barack Obama has come to office all of a sudden the left has found that golf isn’t worth noting, even as Obama has played the game more in just under two years than Bush did during his entire eight-year term.

The word hypocrisy comes to mind.

In 2003 President Bush decided to give up golfing because he did not want families of wounded and KIA soldiers to see him playing a game while they served and died in Iraq and Afghanistan. Being seen on the golf course in wartime hasn’t seemed to deter President Obama, however.

Obama even skipped the funeral of the leader of Poland, a most staunch ally, to go play golf. Few in the Old Media seemed very worried about it.

But for Bush it was different. Even propagandist filmmaker Michael Moore used golf against President Bush. In his film Fahrenheit 9/11 the rotund spoofer used a clip of Bush golfing to attempt to make him seem out of touch. Additionally, Bush’s golf game was meticulously covered by the Old Media and used to make him seem tone-deaf.

But as far as the Old Media is concerned, Obama “needs some downtime.” His golf is nothing to be worried about.

Just a reminder of the hypocrisy of the Old Media and the American left.

Woah! LA OUTRAGED After Obama Fundraiser Shuts Down Traffic For Hours

Woah! Nice work Ace…
Obama traveled to Los Angeles last night for a fundraiser at the home of a wealthy Hollywood producer and managed to pi$$ off the entire city after locking up traffic for hours. JSF at Valley of the Shadow was one of the Angelenos stuck for hours on the road without warning.

Check out these comments from the LA Times on the traffic quagmire:

Of course, the fact that this administration once again treated ordinary Americans like complete peons should surprise no one. Maybe that’s why he’s even losing his base.

After Fighting Them In Afghanistan For 9 Years, Obama Takes Taliban Off National Terror List

Weird…

A new State Department report designating terrorist organizations notably excludes one group: the Taliban. The U.S. has been fighting a war in Afghanistan for almost a decade aimed at “defeating the Taliban,” Taliban members repeatedly have threatened and killed American citizens and lawmakers have increased pressure on State to add the Taliban to the list.

Earlier this summer, a group of congressional Democrats sent a letter to Secretary of State Hilary Clinton urging her to begin the process of categorizing the Taliban as a terrorist group. In June, Sens. Charles Schumer and Kristen Gillibrand of New York and Frank Lautenberg and Robert Menendez of New Jersey proposed legislation that would immediately add the Taliban to the terrorist list.

Yet the State Department’s report (due on April 30 but released last week), did not include the Taliban with groups such as al-Qaida, Hamas and the Real Irish Republican Army (RIRA). To qualify, an organization must meet only three criteria: It must be foreign, it must engage in terrorist activity and its activity must threaten the security of the U.S. or its citizens.

“It is hard to imagine this agency can see fit to issue a report that doesn’t include the Taliban groups,” Fred Gedrich, a foreign policy analyst and former State Department employee, told The Daily Caller. “They have killed more Americans and conducted more terror attacks on innocent civilians during the past 12 months than any other terror group.“

I wonder if this is anticipation of Obama’s deadline for withdrawal from Afghanistan. Is this part of the strategy? Just declare the bad guys to be good guys and go home?

“Edujobs” money going to states that don’t need it

As I said this morning: It’s not about the children. It’s about political self-preservation.

Chris Moody at The Daily Caller follows the “EduJobs”/BigGovJobs money and discovers that, lo and behold, the $26 billion bailout will help states that don’t need the dough:

The federal government estimates that the bill will save 161,000 teaching jobs, but North Dakota, Tennessee, Arkansas, Alaska and a handful of other states have kept their educational pay rolls full despite the recession, which has drastically lowered government revenues around the country. Since the new bill provides funds based on state population and the number of children in school, these states will receive funds even if their budgets are in the black. This has some employees at state education departments wondering exactly how they will spend all the fresh cash.

Arkansas, for example, has a fully funded teaching staff for the coming year, but the state will still receive up to $91 million for teaching jobs…

…children in each class based upon those numbers. Although the teaching jobs are filled, the state will still receive $24 million under the bill, and a state official asserted that it probably would not go to adding new teachers.

According to an Education Department official, unneeded teacher funding may go to help pay for “on-campus therapists.”

No word on whether they’ll be spending the extra cash on Viagra, too.

Media Tries to Rescue Michelle O From Spanish Escapade; Insists She Was Mourning With a Friend

Honestly, is there nothing these corrupt cranks in the media will not do to bail out the radical Pelosi-Obama regime from disaster after disaster?

Last week the nation was outraged after it was revealed that Michelle Obama was spending over $300,000 of taxpayer money on her extravagant Spanish vacation.

After a few days of plotting and planning the state-run media finally settled on an excuse. Now the media spin is that Queen Michelle really traveled to Spain to mourn the loss of a parent with a friend.

Really? Here’s Michelle mourning with the Spanish King Juan Carlos.

Here’s Michelle mourning while sight seeing in Ronda.

Michelle O even mourned during her shopping excursions.

Poor Michelle even had to mourn with her friends down at the beach.

It was a very somber trip for the First Lady…
At least that’s what the journolist state-run media wants you to believe.
Unreal.

As Michelle Returns From Spanish Extravaganza Obama Cuts Food Stamps to Nation’s Poor

As Michelle Obama returned home from her royal excursion to Spain which cost taxpayers $400,000, Barack Obama cut food stamps to the nation’s poor.

After all, he had to bailout unions so they could run ads against the GOP this fall.

The Examiner reported, via Free Republic:

Just as Michelle Obama returned from her much-criticized luxury vacation to Spain, which cost the U.S. taxpayers an estimated $400,000, her husband cut $11.9 billion from the Food Stamp program, designed to help the poorest Americans.

The cut, along with tax increases to businesses is supposed to pay for an aid package to several states, mostly to prevent the layoff of about 160,000 public school teachers and administrators.

Of course, the teachers’ unions are tremendous contributors to the Democratic Party, and were instrumental in putting Obama in office. The move is seen by many as a payback for their support.

What is so hypocritical is the fact that Obama made the cut in the Food Stamps program, while he expects the taxpayers to pick up the bill for the First Lady’s trip to Spain.

By the way, $400,000 would buy a lot of food stamps.

Obama’s Recorded Message to Boy Scouts Centennial Wasn’t Warmly Received

Every US president since William Howard Taft has served as the honorary president of the Boys Scouts of America. President Obama accepted his role as honorary president in March of last year. So as you know, when the 100th anniversary of the Boys Scouts came along late last month, Obama decided to… go on The View instead. Hey, when you’re down 14 points with women, an American institution like the Boy Scouts will just have to wait.

However, Obama did record a message that was broadcast to the 43,000 Boy Scouts in attendance at the National Jamboree in Virginia.

This is footage from just one sliver of the crowd, but it doesn’t appear that Obama’s pre-recorded message was warmly received that day:

President Obama got a much more welcoming reception from The View women, don’t you think?

But on the bright side, Joy Behar became the first daytime female talk show host to hermetically seal her panties while still wearing them, and more than a few Boy Scouts got a chance to earn their Boo-Bird badges, so it turned out to be a “win-win” for all parties involved.

Unemployment at 9.5%; another Obama econ adviser bails; Mrs. Obama hits the beach

The latest jobless numbers are out. Unemployment remains stuck at 9.5 percent — with employers shedding 131,000 jobs in July. Private sector employers added 71,000 (less than the private sector payroll additions in June); 143,000 Census workers were let go. The WSJ reports:

The jobless rate, which is calculated using a separate household survey, held steady at 9.5% in July. Economists were expecting it to edge higher to 9.6%.

After the worst recession in decades, the recovery that began in July 2009 has recently been losing momentum, but it’s hard to say if it’s just a temporary slowdown or if the economy could start to contract again. The Federal Reserve may consider taking steps to support the economy when officials meet next Tuesday. Some worry that with unemployment still so high and consumer prices recently dropping, the U.S. economy runs the risk of falling into a Japan-like deflationary trap of very slow growth and falling prices.

…in a sign of the labor market’s continued weakness, Friday’s report showed that 45% of unemployed Americans, or 6.6 million people, were out of work for more than six months in July. The longer someone is without a job, the harder it is to find work. With time, people lose skills — and employers are often loathe to hire someone who hasn’t been working for long periods.

More downward-revised numbers:

The June data was revised down significantly. Payrolls fell 221,000 that month, more than the 125,000 drop previously reported, as only 31,000 jobs were added in the private sector.

Taking into account revisions to prior months this year, the U.S. economy added an average of less than 100,000 jobs a month in the first seven months, a level that’s not strong enough to bring unemployment down.

The eve before the numbers came out, yet another Obama economic adviser is abandoning ship:

President Obama must grapple with the economy without another key adviser, given the departure of Christina Romer.

Romer, who chairs the Council of Economic Advisers, announced Thursday night that she is returning to her previous job as economics professor at the University of California at Berkeley.

Her resignation follows that of budget director Peter Orszag.

Rumors about who pushed her out:

…the scuttlebutt, apparently, is that she had run-ins with Larry Summers, who had a lot more access to The President.

There’s also gossip — completely unsubstantiated, we just know that people are chattering about this — that Summers wanted Romer out.

Meanwhile, back in Spain

Spanish police have cleared off a stretch of beach for U.S. first lady Michelle Obama and daughter Sasha to relax by the Mediterranean after a busy day of sightseeing.

Police used palm trees Friday to mark off the boundaries of a 100-meter (100-yard) expanse for the American delegation. On either side, onlookers gawked.

As the first lady rested inside a canvas hut by the shore, her 9-year-old daughter splashed around in the sea and a security guard swam with her.

“Welcome Obama Family: Thank you for choosing Marbella!”

Doug Powers gave you the heads-up last month about the First Lady’s lavish Spanish adventure. She touched down yesterday with her youngest daughter, dozens of friends, and phalanx of government bodyguards in tow. The luxury resort of Marbella rejoiced — and our hapless State Department blanched — as she embarked on her first “walkabout” clad in a one-shoulder Jean Paul Gaultier top:

The Obama administration faced an embarrassing diplomatic blunder today after it was forced to pull a warning about racism in Spain – just as the First Lady arrived in the country for a summer holiday.

Soon after touching down in the Costa del Sol yesterday morning, Michelle Obama was pictured taking in the sights of Marbella with daughter Sasha, nine, surrounded by a throng of bodyguards.

Staff at the U.S. State Department removed the contentious advice to travellers, which included the phrase ‘racist prejudices could lead to the arrest of Afro-Americans who travel to Spain,’ from its website on Monday.

She is on a four-day visit and will be staying at the five-star Villa Padierna, rated as one of the world’s top 30 hotels, with 40 friends. The party has reserved 60 rooms.

…Flags welcoming the Obama family were waving in the breeze as Marbella – often associated with reality TV and gangsters – geared up for their arrival.

A large billboard reading: ‘Welcome Obama Family: Thank you for choosing Marbella!’ painted in red, white and blue hung in the city.

The Chicago Sun Times is keeping tabs on all of Mrs. Obama’s anti-recessionista travel:

Mrs. Obama’s U.S. Air Force jet landed at Malaga on Wednesday; she skipped celebrating her husband’s 49th birthday with him. (Daughter Malia, 12, is at overnight camp.) Mrs. Obama pays for personal expenses — as do her friends who arrived on their own — but that only covers a small part of the expense. Taxpayers pick up the tab for staff and security at the exclusive hotel and most of the expenses for the plane.

First ladies often go on vacations, with and without the president. An issue for Mrs. Obama may be how many: New York in March; Chicago, over Memorial Day; Los Angeles in June; Camp David — sort of an extension of the White House — in July; Maine in July, to highlight Acadia National Park, and now Spain. Mrs. Obama is glamorizing Spain’s coastal resorts before her Aug. 14 first family weekend visit to Florida’s Gulf Coast, to encourage tourists scared away by the oil spill. Starting Aug. 19, the Obamas will spend 10 days in Martha’s Vineyard.

Andrea Tantaros rightly dubs Mrs. O a “modern-day Marie Antoinette.”

Like Mrs. O’s old Chicago socialite pal Desiree Rogers liked to say before her profligate, negligent ways got her kicked out of the White House: Laissez les bon temps rouler.

Flashback: Cube-steak Americans vs. the Wagyu-beef White House

Cheers!

michellemalkin.com

As President Obama demonizes the rich, Material girl Michelle Obama is a modern-day Marie Antoinette on a glitzy Spanish vacation

Sacrifice is something that many Americans are becoming all too familiar with during this economic downturn. It was a key theme in President Obama's inaugural address to the nation, and he's referenced it numerous times when lecturing the country on how to get back on its feet.

But while most of the country is pinching pennies and downsizing summer sojourns - or forgoing them altogether - the Obamas don't seem to be heeding their own advice. While many of us are struggling, the First Lady is spending the next few days in a five-star hotel on the chic Costa del Sol in southern Spain with 40 of her "closest friends." According to CNN, the group is expected to occupy 60 to 70 rooms, more than a third of the lodgings at the 160-room resort. Not exactly what one would call cutting back in troubled times.

Reports are calling the lodgings of Obama's Spanish fiesta, the Hotel Villa Padierna in Marbella, "luxurious," "posh" and "a millionaires' playground." Estimated room rate per night? Up to a staggering $2,500. Method of transportation? Air Force Two.

To be clear, what the Obamas do with their money is one thing; what they do with ours is another. Transporting and housing the estimated 70 Secret Service agents agents who will flank the material girl will cost the taxpayers a pretty penny.

Perhaps it could be that the Obamas, who seem to fancy themselves more along the lines of international celebrities than actual leaders, espouse a different view of sacrifice. When Michelle Obama accompanied her husband to Copenhagen along with best buddy Oprah Winfrey, she billed the trip - an ultimately unsuccessful bid to bring the Olympics to Chicago - as follows: "As much of a sacrifice as people say this is for me or Oprah or the President to come for these few days, so many of you in this room have been working for years to bring this bid home."
A quick jaunt to Denmark is a sacrifice? What portraits in courage!

The Obama modus operandi is becoming clear...

WOW! “SHOW ME STATE” SHOWS OBAMACARE THE DOOR… Prop C Passes By Over 70%

MISSOURI VOTERS REJECT OBAMACARE!

Prop C passes in Missouri!
Over 70% of voters reject the democrat’s nationalized health care plan.

WOW! The Show Me State showed Obamacare the door tonight.
Over 70% of Missouri voters rejected Obamacare by passing Prop c.
It’s too bad local KMOV St. Louis Channel 4 could not find any one who voted for the proposition.

Missouri rejects the Pelosi-Obama Rationed Health Care Plan

All eyes were on Missouri today. The Show Me voters were voting for or against the new federal health care law.
Missouri showed Obamacare the door.
FOX KC reported:

Election officials are hoping the heat won’t keep people from getting out to vote. One of the hottest races in Missouri is Proposition C. It’s an issue that is getting a lot of attention across the country.

All eyes will be on Missouri’s Proposition C results because it’s the first time voters in the country vote for or against the new federal health care law. Basically Proposition C would create a state law against federal mandates requiring people to buy health insurance.

Missouri’s top U.S. Senate candidates are divided on the measure. If passed, it will will reject part of the new federal health care law. Republicans Roy Blunt and Chuck Purgason both support Proposition C. Democrat Robin Carnahan plans to vote against it.

Christie Herrara has more on Prop C at Big Government.

Republicans today were out in force to vote in the primaries. This likely helped Proposition C in Missouri.
