OBAMA & BIG SIS Call In Riot Police on Quincy Tea Party Patriots

TEAM OBAMA CALLS IN SWAT TEAM ON TEA PARTY PATRIOTS!

The SWAT Team was called in today at the Quincy Tea Party Rally. Obama was speaking at the Oakley-Lindsey/Quincy Community Center this afternoon.
Unreal.

They didn’t want any violence from these threatening protesters.

In Full Riot Gear!!

The patriots were singing “God Bless America” …A sure sign of violence.

They were worried about violence.

Local Quincy Tea Party Leader Steve McQueen was directing protesters when the SWAT team was called in.

Unbelievable.

SWAT was there because it looked like the ladies were going to break out in a BINGO game.

Wow!…
More than 1,100 patriots turned out to protest Barack Obama yesterday in Macon, Missouri a town of 5,500.

1,100 protesters joined the Macon County Patriots tonight at Leo O’Laughlin Inc. (AP)

More than 1,100 tea party patriots and concerned Missourians rallied for freedom in Macon on Tuesday—just down the road from the site of President Barack Obama’s visit.

Several special guests addressed the Stand Up Missouri Rally, including Congressman Blaine Luetkemeyer, Congressman Roy Blunt, Carl Bearden, state director of Americans for Prosperity-Missouri, former State Sen. John Loudon, and conservative activist Paul Curtman.

“Our common concern is that the country is literally being bankrupted by foolish ideas,” said Cindy O’Laughlin, an organizer of the rally. “Tonight, people from all around Missouri have spoken—and we are upset with the direction of this county! More than 1,100 people made our voices heard loud and clear, and Barack Obama can certainly hear us now!”

It was a lovely evening for a Missouri freedom rally. (Jonathon Prouty)

60% of Americans Agree With Arizona Bill… Only 31% Agree With Radicals & Obama

Despite the fact that the state-run media continues to report this as an unpopular and controversial bill, a new Rasmussen poll shows that 60% of Americans agree with the new Arizona law that authorizes local police to verify the immigration status of anyone they suspect of being an illegal immigrant. Only 31% agree with Obama and Al Sharpton.

Arizona Governor Jan Brewer last week signed a new law into effect that authorizes local police to stop and verify the immigration status of anyone they suspect of being an illegal immigrant. A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey finds that 60% of voters nationwide favor such a law, while 31% are opposed.

Seventy-seven percent (77%) of Republicans support the law along with 62% of voters not affiliated with either major party. Democratic voters are evenly divided on the measure.

At the same time, however, 58% of all voters are at least somewhat concerned that “efforts to identify and deport illegal immigrants will also end up violating the civil rights of some U.S. citizens.” That figure includes 29% who are Very Concerned about possible civil rights violations.

Voter support for empowering local police comes at a time when most voters (56%) believe it is unlikely Congress will take action to gain control of the border. Only 31% say Congress is even somewhat likely to take such an action.

Another poll in Arizona shows similar results.
70% of Arizona voters agree with new immigration legislation signed into law on Friday.
But, not Al Sharpton or Barack Obama.

Obama’s financial “reform:” It’s all about the boodle

In Chicago politics, there’s an old term for the publicly-subsidized pay-offs meted out to the corruptocrats’ friends and special interests: Boodle.

In the age of Obama, “reform” is all about the boodle. So it was with the stimulus. And the massive national service expansion. And the health care bill. And so it is with the financial “reform” bill set for a Senate vote at around 5:30pm Eastern today. In front of the cameras, the Democrats will lambaste the greedy, Wall Street money. Behind the scenes, they’re pocketing Wall Street campaign donations and working out deals.

First, the latest from Capitol Hill:

Senators will face a crucial test vote Monday that could clear the way for debate on far-reaching legislation to overhaul the nation’s financial regulatory system — or end in a partisan standoff — as Wall Street once again takes center stage on Capitol Hill. Elsewhere, lawmakers will be preparing to condemn the alleged sins of Wall Street’s past and also wrestling over how to prevent such excesses in the future. Top executives from Goldman Sachs, beset by charges that the bank misled its clients by selling them mortgage investments secretly designed to fail, will face questions Tuesday about how the firm profited from betting against the U.S. housing market. Senate Republicans said Sunday they plan to block efforts to move forward with an overhaul bill unless Democrats alter central elements of the legislation. Meanwhile, Democrats and Obama administration officials spent much of the day finalizing strict new rules to rein in the huge derivatives trade, including measures that could threaten profits at some of the biggest banks.

Look beyond the superficial characterizations of the bill. There’s a garden of carrots to soften the blow of the sticks.

National Review has a good rundown of all the favors to Wall Street embedded in the legislation, including front-door bailouts, backdoor bailouts, and Big Labor goodies.

You might have heard about the new $50 billion fund that would be used to wind down large financial firms that became insolvent. The fund would come from assessments on Wall Street banks, based on the principle that these “too big to fail” institutions should pre-fund their own bailouts. But you probably didn’t know that these assessments would count as tax-deductible business expenses, meaning that for every dollar the banks would pay into the fund, 35 cents would come out of the Treasury.

This provision is Senate Banking Committee chairman Chris Dodd’s financial-reform bill in a nutshell: a hodge-podge of new restrictions on Wall Street offset by a hearty dose of sweeteners to keep financial-industry cash flowing to Democrats. For every measure that would cut into Wall Street’s profits, another would subsidize its operations. New regulations governing derivatives would cut into the fees investment banks could charge for structuring these customized products. But the bailout authority awarded to the FDIC and the Federal Reserve would allow the banks to borrow at reduced rates, with their creditors secure in the knowledge that the government would step in if the market tanked.

Barack Obama’s Big Lie — that taxpayers are not funding this fund — is refuted by the CBO (via Morning Bell):

Before President Obama continues to go around accusing others of lacking legitimacy, he should read the official cost estimate of the financial regulation bill released by the Congressional Budget Office last Thursday. Assessing the budgetary impact of the $50 billion that “systemically important financial firms” would have to pay in assessments to pay for the bill’s “Orderly Resolution Fund,” the CBO writes:

The total amount collected from assessments is estimated to be about $58 billion through 2020. But such assessments would become an additional business expense for companies required to pay them. Those additional expenses would result in decreases in taxable income somewhere in the economy, which would produce a loss of government revenue from income and payroll taxes that would partially offset the revenue collected from the assessment itself.

In other words, these financial firms have to get that $58 billion dollars from somewhere, and that somewhere is you. Now the Obama administration may argue that they actually oppose the creation of the resolution fund. But American taxpayers should be even more frightened when they find out why the Obama administration opposes it. The New York Times reports: “The Obama administration does not support the $50 billion fund, partly out of concern that more money may be needed if one or more big financial firms ever collapse and that creating a fund could make it difficult to authorize more money.”

James Gattuso at Heritage has much more in an analysis of the 14 fatal flaws in the Dodd plan. A few choice morsels:

* Creates a protected class of “too big to fail” firms. Section 113 of the bill establishes a “Financial Stability Oversight Council,” charged with identifying firms that would “pose a threat to the financial security of the United States if they encounter “material financial distress.” These firms would be subject to enhanced regulation. However, such a designation would also signal to the marketplace that these firms are too important to be allowed to fail and, perversely, allow them to take on undue risk. As American Enterprise Institute scholar Peter Wallison wrote, “Designating large non-bank financial companies as too big to fail will be like creating Fannies and Freddies in every area of the economy.”[1]

*Provides for seizure of private property without meaningful judicial review. The bill, in Section 203(b), authorizes the Secretary of the Treasury to order the seizure of any financial firm that he finds is “in danger of default” and whose failure would have “serious adverse effects on financial stability.” This determination is subject to review in the courts only on a “substantial evidence” standard of review, meaning that the seizure must be upheld if the government produces any evidence in favor of its action. This makes reversal extremely difficult.

*Does nothing to address problems at Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. These two government-sponsored housing giants helped fuel the housing bubble. When it popped, taxpayers—because of an implicit guarantee by the U.S. Treasury—found themselves on the hook for some $125 billion in bailout money. Not only has little of this amount been paid back, but the Treasury Department recently eliminated the cap on how much more Fannie and Freddie can receive. Yet the bill does nothing to resolve the problem or reform these government-run enterprises.

I’m reading a terrific history of Chicago corruption by James Merriner, Grafters and Goo Goos: Corruption and Reform in Chicago, 1833-2003, who writes of the ageless, interdependent relationship between Windy City politicos and “goo goos” (the derisive term for good government reformers). The derision is well-earned. In Chicago, and in Chicago-on-the-Potomac, “reform” has always entailed wealth redistribution under the guise of public service. And it has inevitably led to more corruption. A dominant constant in corruption and “reform,” Merriner concludes, is “the steady expansion of governmental intervention in the economy and everyday life. The problem, corruption in government, always has galvanized reformers to reduce the amount of corruption with stricter laws and regulations. By the now the true remedy might lie in addressing the other side of the equation: reduce the amount of government.”

Or as I put it in Culture of Corruption: As government grows, corruption flows.

Along with an ocean of boodle.

Obama Plays Race Card- Rallies Latinos & Blacks for 2010 Vote… White Men Need Not Apply

Obama Plays the Race Card in Latest Online Video Rallying the Troops for 2010–
Via Drudge:

What a complete shock…
Forget the white men and their greed, Obama reaches out to Latinos and Blacks for their support in 2010.
Notice what he lists as his accomplishments (all disasters):

The Politico reported:

The DNC released this clip of the president rallying the troops, if rather coolly, for 2010, with the express goal of “reconnecting” with the voters who voted for the first time in 2008, but who may not plan to vote in the lower-profile Congressional elections this year.

Obama speaks with unusual demographic frankness about his coalition in his appeal to “young people, African-Americans, Latinos, and women who powered our victory in 2008 [to] stand together once again.”

Of course, this will be ignored by most of the state-run media.

THOUSANDS RALLY AGAINST OBAMA at New York City Israeli Consulate

(WCBSTV)
Thousands of Jews and Israel supporters protested in the rain outside of the Israeli Consulate in New York City today against Barack Obama’s anti-Israel policies.
WPIX reported:

Thousands of Jews gathered outside the Israeli Consulate Sunday to protest President Obama’s position towards Israel.

Organizers said the event supports “Israel’s right to build and live in its own country,” as well as its right to unite Jerusalem under Israeli sovereignty. They are also protesting the Obama Administrations’ alleged disregard of the democratic Jewish state.

“We are outraged that President Obama is scapegoating Israel and wants to expel Jews from their homes in Jerusalem. President Obama and Secretary Hillary Clinton show more anger about a Jewish family building a home in Jerusalem than Iran building a nuclear bomb,” states Beth Gilinsky of the Jewish Action Alliance. “Vast segments of the Jewish community will not tolerate the President’s continuing attacks on Israel. Grassroots Jewry will not be silent.”

Pamela Geller from Atlas Shrugs gave a great speech at the rally today and posted several pictures.
“For the first time in American history we have an anti-Israel president.”

Former New York Mayor Ed Koch addressed participants in a pro-Israel rally in this taped statement.

Maybe if his top advisors would stop cracking greedy Jewish merchant jokes during their speeches, that would help.

Economists Say Government “Stimulus” Spending Has Had Little Impact On The Economy

I’d add the word “yet” to the end of that headline statement given that when it comes time to pay off the deficits and debt created by the “stimulus” spending there will be a huge impact on the economy.

And not a good impact.

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) — The recovery is picking up steam as employers boost payrolls, but economists think the government’s stimulus package and jobs bill had little to do with the rebound, according to a survey released Monday.

In latest quarterly survey by the National Association for Business Economics, the index that measures employment showed job growth for the first time in two years — but a majority of respondents felt the fiscal stimulus had no impact.

NABE conducted the study by polling 68 of its members who work in economic roles at private-sector firms. About 73% of those surveyed said employment at their company is neither higher nor lower as a result of the $787 billion Recovery Act, which the White House’s Council of Economic Advisers says is on track to create or save 3.5 million jobs by the end of the year.

As for those “created or saved” numbers, the nebulous nature of “jobs saved” aside the jobs created measure is the result of cooked numbers. The Obama administration has been inflating jobs numbers by lowering the base line jobs numbers they started measuring from.

That’s like coming in at noon, punching your time clock clock as though you showed up at 8am, and telling your boss you’ve already worked for four hours.

Obama: Hey, I’m fighting evil fat cats. Now, send me your donations!

The last time President Obama was assailing Wall Street greed, I posted: “People in “fat cat”-infested houses shouldn’t throw stones.”

They’re at it again, of course, with the conveniently timed suit against bailed-out Goldman Sachs just as the White House prepares to pass a permanent bailout plan disguised as “financial regulatory reform.” (I’ll have much more in my syndicated column tomorrow, but read here about the delicious spectacle of mob-linked Obama crony Alexi Giannoulias of the shady Broadway Bank family, the Democrat Senate candidate in Illinois, demanding that GOP opponent Mark Kirk (yes, that one) return his Goldman Sachs contributions. Um, there’s a lot more of that lying around.

The DNC/Organizing for America is at the ready to milk the new campaign for all its worth. Message from Obama: Hey, America, I’m fighting all the evil fat cats who funded my presidential bid. Now, send me more money!

President Obama is bringing his war on Wall Street to the enemy’s turf.

He’ll make his pitch for financial reform in the heart of lower Manhattan Thursday – even as his team make hay of the Goldman Sachs fiasco with a tech savvy appeal to Democratic donors.

Internet surfers who entered “Goldman Sachs SEC” into Google were directed to the president’s campaign Web site via a sponsored link titled “Help Change Wall Street.” The White House’s political arm paid for the keywords — but would not say how much.

The tactic provided the latest evidence of how Obama and the Democratic National Committee are using the Securities and Exchange Commission’s bombshell fraud suit against the financial giant to push financial-reform legislation through Congress.

But showing it, too, was gearing up for a political fight, Goldman Sachs hired Obama’s former White House counsel, Gregory Craig, Politico reported last night.

Meanwhile, Democratic former Gov. Eliot Spitzer, speculated yesterday that there was “no coincidence” to the timing of the SEC suit. And Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) wrote in a letter sent to the SEC, “It must be nice for Democrats that the SEC’s filing against Goldman Sachs so conveniently fits into their political agenda.”

There are no coincidences in Chicago-on-the-Potomac.

MSNBC Anchor Spins for Obama after NBC Reporter Slams Him for NASA Cuts

BARBREE: But I'm a little disturbed right now, Alex. I just found out some very disturbing news. The President came down here in his campaign and told these 15,000 workers here at the Space Center that if they would vote for him, that he would protect their jobs. 9,000 of them are about to lose their job. He is speaking before 200, extra hundred people here today only. It's invitation only. He has not invited a single space worker from this space port to attend. It's only academics and other high officials from outside of the country. Not one of them is invited to hear the President of the United States, on their own space port, speak today. Back to you Alex.

A visibly perturbed Jay Barbree, during MSNBC live coverage on Thursday, called out Barack Obama for making cuts in NASA that could result, as he claimed, in 9,000 employees losing their jobs even though during the campaign, as the long time NBC correspondent reported, the President "told 15,000 workers here at the Space Center that if they would vote for him, that he would protect their jobs." This sent MSNBC live anchor Alex Witt immediately into administration defense mode as she asserted: "I will say on behalf of the Obama administration, they contend that 2500 new jobs will be created."

The following exchange was aired during MSNBC's live April 15 coverage at around 12pm Eastern:

ALEX WITT: Right now on MSNBC, President Obama gets ready to head to NASA to try to build support for his efforts to revamp the nation's space program. Although the international space station will remain active, plans to send astronauts back to the moon are being scrubbed for now and that is dividing, not only Congress, but also some of the few people who have actually stepped foot on the lunar surface. Let's bring in NBC's Jay Barbree who's live for us at the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida. Jay, good day to you.

JAY BARBREE: Good day to you Alex.

WITT: Okay so this is really, there's a dividing line here between these very few elite men.

BARBREE: It sure is. Well I'll tell you it's really not. You have, you have Buzz Aldrin, who is - has his oldest son Andrew Aldrin is a, is the chief planner of the Launch Alliance Group, the Delta 4 rocket and the Atlas 5 rocket and they are the people who are trying to get the job of hauling the Orion spacecraft into space and they're going to downsize it so they can put them on these rockets. So what - they're trying to do that. Neil Armstrong and all the rest of the guys, they see what's happening here. We do not have a conceivable...I can't get the word out. They do not have continuation of the space program.

WITT: Okay.

BARBREE: But I'm a little disturbed right now, Alex. I just found out some very disturbing news. The President came down here in his campaign and told these 15,000 workers here at the Space Center that if they would vote for him, that he would protect their jobs. 9,000 of them are about to lose their job. It's only academics and other high officials from outside of the country. Not one of them is invited to hear the President of the United States, on their own space port, speak today. Back to you Alex.

WITT: Alright Jay I can understand why that would certainly get you a bit upset. I will say, on behalf of the Obama administration, they contend that 2500 new jobs will be created, even more, they say, than the 2012 Constellation would have created, that program. So I know all this remains to be seen, but understandably we get why you're upset, right now. Along with many others down there. Let's see if the President clears that up later today. Jay thanks so much.

Obama Snubs Georgian President Saakashvilli at Nuclear Summit

Barack Obama turned his back on the country of Georgia during his campaign in 2008. He compared Russia to the US for invading Georgia.

But, John McCain supported America’s ally Georgia and condemned the Russian invasion. So in January 2010 Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili awarded Senator John McCain with the Order of Georgian National Hero at the Sheraton in Batumi. Saakashvili honored John McCain for taking time during his campaign to stand with the people of Georgia… “while others hid behind bushes.”

So it really comes as no surprise that Barack Obama would snub Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili today.
The pro-American Georgian leader flew all the way from Georgia to meet with President Obama at his nuclear summit. But, Obama wouldn’t meet with him.

Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili spoke with Neil Cavuto today:

The Washington Post reported:

Forty-seven world leaders are Barack Obama’s guests in Washington Tuesday at the nuclear security summit. Obama is holding bilateral meetings with just 12 of them. That’s led to some awkward exclusions — and some unfortunate appearances, as well.

One of those left out was Mikheil Saakashvili, president of Georgia, who got a phone call from Obama last week instead of a meeting in Washington. His exclusion must have prompted broad smiles in Moscow, where Saakashvili is considered public enemy no. 1 — a leader whom Russia tried to topple by force in the summer of 2008. After all, Obama met with Viktor Yanukovych, the president of Ukraine and a friend of the Kremlin. And he is also meeting with the leaders of two of Georgia’s neighbors — Armenia and Turkey, both of which enjoy excellent relations with Russia.

So is Saakashvili — a democratically elected leader whose ambition is to lead his country into NATO — being snubbed in order to please Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev?…

Saakashvili’s exclusion from the bilateral schedule is striking considering his strong support for U.S. interests, such as the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Georgia sent as many as 2,000 troops from its tiny army to Iraq. It will soon have nearly 1,000 in Afghanistan; 750 are being sent to fight under U.S. command. U.S. envoy Richard Holbrooke noted last month that Georgia’s per capita troop contribution would be the highest of any country in the world.

Obama thanked Saakashvili for that help in their phone call last week. But according to a Georgian account of the call, Obama didn’t say anything about Georgia’s aspiration to join NATO, or about Georgia’s interest in buying defensive weapons from the United States, in order to deter a repeat of the 2008 Russian invasion. “It’s a work in progress,” Saakashvili said of his defense talks with the administration during a meeting with Post editors and reporters Monday. “It’s a step-by-step approach. It takes time.”

Will Hillary Clinton Blame Obama Like She Blamed Bush For the Mining Tragedy?

Will Obama Get the Shaft Too?
During the Bush years democrats blamed the sitting president for the high profile mining disasters.
Hillary Clinton blasted President Bush for the Sago Mine tragedy.
During the democratic primary debate in 2008 Hillary said this:

And, I want to quickly say, to the woman who lost her husband in the Sago Mine, Chris Dodd and I were on a committee that passed some very good laws. The problem is we have an administration that doesn’t want to enforce laws. When I am president the Department of Labor will be a department that actually cares.

Of course, her attack was not based in fact.

There were an average of 93 mining deaths each year during the 1990’s when the Clintons were in office. During the Bush years, the number of mining fatalities decreased significantly to an average of 63 mining deaths per year. But, this didn’t stop democrats from pouncing on Bush for the Sago Mine disaster.

So, the question is… Will Hillary blame Obama for the worst mining disaster in 25 years this week?

Of course not… They’re still blaming conservatives.

“Where do we get the free Obama care, and how do I sign up for that?”

Sigh…

Two weeks after President Barack Obama signed the big health care overhaul into law, Americans are struggling to understand how — and when — the sweeping measure will affect them.

Questions reflecting confusion have flooded insurance companies, doctors’ offices, human resources departments and business groups.

“They’re saying, ‘Where do we get the free Obama care, and how do I sign up for that?’ ” said Carrie McLean, a licensed agent for eHealthInsurance.com. The California-based company sells coverage from 185 health insurance carriers in 50 states.

McLean said the call center had been inundated by uninsured consumers who were hoping that the overhaul would translate into instant, affordable coverage. That widespread misconception may have originated in part from distorted rhetoric about the legislation bubbling up from the hyper-partisan debate about it in Washington and some media outlets, such as when opponents denounced it as socialism.

“We tell them it’s not free, that there are going to be things in place that help people who are low-income, but that ultimately most of that is not going to be taking place until 2014,” McLean said.

These are the people who voted for Barack Obama.

Obama to Dibble on why he wore a White Sox fan to throw out the first pitch in Washington: “I’m a Southside kid, I gotta make sure (White Sox owner) Jerry Reinsdorf doesn’t get to angry with me.”

Dibble: “Having played with the White Sox for a short time, I know how the Cubs fans and White Sox fans go back and forth. Who was one of your favorite White Sox players growing up?”

Obama: “You know uh ….. I … I thought that … uh …. you know … the truth is a lot of the Cubs I like too! But, uh … I did not become a Sox fan until I moved to Chicago. Because I uh …. I was growing up in Hawaii so I ended up actually being an Oakland A’s fan.”

Schoolgirl left wondering what all the fuss is about after meeting president amid crowd frenzy

One little girl was distinctly unimpressed with all the excitement when President Barack Obama came to town.

Many supporters in the crowd in Portland, Massachusetts queued up for hours for the chance to meet the president.

Some even camped out overnight in torrential rain to be first in line for a front row place.

But for this schoolgirl, at least, it all dragged on a little too long.

She was part of an adoring audience that greeted Mr Obama after his latest speech touting his health reforms yesterday.

The president has embarked on a series of appearances across the U.S. to rally support for his controversial health overhaul and other key domestic initiatives.
