Obama Quicker to Denounce Governor Walker Than Mubarak

Priorities.
Obama was quicker to denounce Wisconsin Governor Walker for his efforts to cut spending than he was Mubarak… And Iran shooting protesters… And Russia invading Georgia… And….

Gov. Scott Walker to Obama: We’re Focused on Balancing Our Budget. It Would Be Wise for the President to Focus on Balancing His Budget

President Obama won’t like this.
He won’t like this one bit.

Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker today told reporters, “I think we’re focused on balancing our budget. It would be wise for the president and others in Washington to focus on balancing their budget.”
True.
Cubachi reported:

While Governor Scott Walker of Wisconsin is doing his job and tackling the debt problem his state has incurred from previous administrations, who avoided the growing problem.

Now Walker has to deal with President Obama, who not only has the DNC and Organizing for America aiding in the protests of these union members, he has to deal with a president who admittedly has no idea what is in the governor’s bill, but calls it an “assault to the unions.”

“Some of what I’ve heard coming out of Wisconsin, where you’re just making it harder for public employees to collectively bargain generally, seems like more of an assault on unions…”

Governor Walker responded to Obama:

“I think we’re focused on balancing our budget. It would be wise for the president and others in Washington to focus on balancing their budget, which they’re a long ways from doing,” Walker told Fox News.

Breaking: State-Run Media Ran Interference for Obama By Spiking Logan Assault Story

Unbelievable.
The state-run media ran interference for President Obama by spiking the Lara Logan Tahrir Square assault story. They knew it would damage Obama who helped push American ally Hosni Mubarak from office.
Jewish World Review reported:

A funny thing happened on the way to the glorious democracy ostensibly emerging in Egypt. CBS reporter Lara Logan, “covering the jubilation” as CBS put it, was surrounded by a mob of men screaming, “Jew, Jew!” who beat and sexually assaulted her. She is currently recovering in a U.S. hospital from injuries described as “serious.” Despite the fact that the incident occurred last Friday, CBS sat on the story until it became apparent that other members of the media had gotten wind of it. Why? The bet here is that this incident interferes with the mainstream media-established narrative regarding the true nature of some “freedom-loving” Egyptians. People yearning for democracy aren’t supposed to be anti-Semitic thugs or sexual predators as well. Thus, a genuine news item became an “un-story.”

…What is really going on in the Middle East? Upheaval–of a largely undefined nature. Where is it leading? Despite mountains of “expert” analysis, one really knows, not even the participants themselves. The American news media? A pack of Walter Durantys with narratives as tailored as those the NY Times Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter spun about the great “democratic reformer” known as Josef Stalin. A group of narrators as practiced in the art of taqiyya, which is defined as lying to protect Islam, as the Islamists themselves…

…And not just Islamists. In my entire career as a columnist, I can’t recall a time when so many members of the Fourth Estate were so willing to run interference for a president and his administration. Can anyone remotely imagine CBS spiking the same story if George W. Bush were president? Lara Logan would have been the poster girl for “unrealistic expectations of democracy in Egypt.” Bush would have been thoroughly excoriated for his idea that freedom is “G0d’s gift to mankind,” even as Barack Obama’s water-carriers have been characterizing the events in Egypt as “one the great triumphs of the human spirit” (Thomas Friedman, NY Times), or “a massive eloquent validation of the moral force and power of non-violent civil disobedience” comparable to the “legacies of Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King.” (Clarence B. Jones, Huffington Post).

Obama Opens Up New Front in War on America (Wisconsin Edition)

He refused to meddle in Iran. He recently threw a US ally under the proverbial bus in Egypt. Along the way, he has chastised a long list of US allies, states and cities, including India, Arizona, Israel and Las Vegas.

And now President Obama is targeting middle America:

President Obama thrust himself and his political operation this week into Wisconsin's broiling budget battle, mobilizing opposition Thursday to a Republican bill that would curb public-worker benefits while planning similar action in other state capitals.

Obama accused Scott Walker, the state's new Republican governor, of unleashing an "assault" on unions in pushing emergency legislation that would nullify collective-bargaining agreements that affect most public employees, including teachers.

The president's political machine worked in close coordination Thursday with state and national union officials to mobilize thousands of protesters to gather in Madison and to plan similar demonstrations in other state capitals.

Their efforts began to spread, as thousands of labor supporters turned out for a hearing in Columbus, Ohio, to protest a measure from Gov. John Kasich (R) that would cut collective-bargaining rights.

By the end of the day, Democratic Party officials were working to organize additional demonstrations in Ohio and Indiana, where an effort is underway to trim benefits for public workers. Some union activists predicted similar protests in Missouri, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Let's just hope that Obama's stunning incompetence overrides his incredible lack of respect for state issues and the political process.

House GOP Cuts Obama “Czars”

In an era when cutting federal spending is an absolute necessity, killing two birds – or in this case nine – with one stone is a pretty good start. From Politico:

The House voted Thursday to dethrone nine White House “czars.”

Republicans successfully added an amendment to the continuing resolution that would leave President Barack Obama’s senior advisers on policy issues including health care, energy and others out of a job.

The vote was 249-179.

Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.) offered the amendment that blocks funding for various policy advisers to combat what he called “a very disturbing proliferation of czars” under Obama.

“These unappointed, unaccountable people who are literally running a shadow government, heading up these little fiefdoms that nobody can really seem to identify where they are or what they’re doing,” Scalise said Thursday. “But we do know that they’re wielding vast amounts of power.”

The jobs on the chopping block: White House-appointed advisers on health care, energy and climate, green jobs, urban affairs, the closure of the Guantanamo Bay detention center, oversight of TARP executive compensation, diversity at the Federal Communications Commission and the auto industry manufacturing policy.

Read the whole thing.

Democrats spent the Bush years braying about the expansion of executive power and a “disregard for the Constitution’s separation of powers.” But Obama has taken unaccountability to a whole new level of unconstitutionality. The Carol Browner fiasco, detailed in this article, and the evidentiary fraud committed by Elena Kagen while working in the Obama White House merely prove the point, and reinforce the need for more direct congressional oversight. Defunding the “czars” is a good first step.

Alaska Gov. Parnell refuses to enact Obamacare law because it’ll “violate his oath”

Alaska Governor Sean Parnell declared that his state will not implement Obamacare overhaul after a judge in Florida struck down the law as unconstitutional.

Parnell recently asked his Attorney General to decipher whether it’ll be lawful for him as a governor to implement such an unconstitutional law. Yesterday, he decided that as Governor, it’ll be a violation of his oath, to implement Obamacare.

He told the Juneau Chamber of Commerce that Alaska will pursue lawful, market-based solutions to make insurance affordable and accessible to the people of Alaska. Since he calls the Florida judge’s ruling the law of the land (unlike a certain president), he will pursue other market-based solutions.

As you may know already, Alaska was one of 26 states that participated in the Florida lawsuit.

Governor Sean Parnell was on Greta’s show to discuss his decision.

Ruling Declaring Obamacare Unconstitutional Was Predicted In 2008 By…Barack Obama

This is President, then candidate, Barack Obama in 2008 answering a question on the Ellen Degeneres show about the health insurance mandate included in then-Presidentical candidate and Obama rival Hillary Clinton’s health care plan:

She’s have the government force every individual to buy insurance, and I don’t have such a mandate because I don’t think the problem is that people don’t want health insurance. It’s that they can’t afford it …

Well, if things were that easy, I could mandate everybody buy a house, and that, you know, and that would solve, you know, the problem of homelessness. It doesn’t.

Ed Morrissey notes that this wasn’t the only time Obama spoke out against an insurance mandate:

OBAMA: Let’s break down what she really means by a mandate. What’s meant by a mandate is that the government is forcing people to buy health insurance and so she’s suggesting a parent is not going to buy health insurance for themselves if they can afford it. Now, my belief is that most parents will choose to get health care for themselves and we make it affordable.

Here’s the concern. If you haven’t made it affordable, how are you going to enforce a mandate. I mean, if a mandate was the solution, we can try that to solve homelessness by mandating everybody to buy a house. The reason they don’t buy a house is they don’t have the money. And so, our focus has been on reducing costs, making it available. I am confident if people have a chance to buy high-quality health care that is affordable, they will do so. That’s what our plan does and nobody disputes that.

If only Obama had followed his own advice.

After Obtaining Their Own Waivers… SEIU Fights GOP Obamacare Repeal Vote

The SEIU lobbied hard today against the GOP amendment to repeal Obamacare.

This is despite the fact that several SEIU chapters have been granted Obamacare waivers.
The Hill reported:

The Service Employees International Union (SEIU) is lobbying hard against the amendment offered by Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell (Ky.) to repeal the healthcare reform law.

SEIU has sent e-mails to Senate offices urging lawmakers to vote against the proposal to unwind President Obama’s signature domestic initiative.

“A vote in support of this amendment is a vote to raise out-of-pocket healthcare costs for working families and takes away critical consumer protections provided to Americans for the first time,” SEIU urged senators, according to a copy of the e-mail obtained by The Hill.

The lobby informed senators that a vote for McConnell’s amendment would count against them on its legislative scorecard.

SEIU’s outspoken defense of the law has prompted charges of hypocrisy from Republicans, given that some of the union’s chapters have sought waivers exempting them from a key provision of the law requiring the phaseout of health plans with low caps on annual benefits.

White House Calls Obamacare Ruling Judicial Overreach

U.S. District Judge Roger Vinson ruled today that Obamacare is unconstitutional.

The White House today said the Obamacare ruling by Judge Roger Vinson was a plain case of judicial overreach.
Forbes reported:

Earlier today Judge Roger Vinson ruled that the health reform legislation passed last year is unconstitutional. Not surprisingly this evoked a harsh reaction from the administration, which does not want to its main domestic accomplishment during the President’s first two years in office to be nullified by the courts.

On the White House’s blog, spokeswoman Stephanie Cutter writes: “Today’s ruling – issued by Judge Vinson in the Northern District of Florida – is a plain case of judicial overreaching.” She continues: “Those who claim that the “individual responsibility” provision exceeds Congress’ power to regulate interstate commerce because it penalizes “inactivity” are simply wrong. Individuals who choose to go without health insurance are actively making an economic decision that impacts all of us.”

What garbage.

Nice work, democrats… You blew a year on your nationalized health care plan and its unconstitutional.

More… Michelle Malkin reported: Sen. Jim DeMint tweets that all 47 GOP Senators are now on board as co-sponsors of his Obamacare repeal bill.

Obama Health Secretary Compares Obamacare Health Insurance Mandate To Buying A Television

If you don’t buy yourself a television you don’t have a right to demand that you get to see the Super Bowl says Obama’s Secretary of Health Katherine Sebelius. I agree with the metaphor as far as it goes, but in applying it to Obamacare’s health insurance mandate what Sebelius is suggesting is that the solution is to require that everyone buy a television.

(CNSNews.com) – Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius defended the new health care law’s mandate requiring people to purchase insurance, comparing the buying of health insurance to buying televisions.

People access health care regardless of whether they have insurance, said Sebelius on Friday. “What they’re choosing not to do is actually pay for those services,” she said.

“[I]f I don’t have a 27-inch TV for the Super Bowl, I can’t demand on the day of the Super Bowl that somebody deliver that TV because I have a right to it. On the other hand, if I don’t have insurance, I come through the door of an emergency room and get treated and get cared for, and somebody else picks up the tab,” said Sebelius.

Union That Spent $673,309 Electing Barack Obama Gets 28 Obamacare Waivers

First they advocated for the law, and then they sought exemptions from having to follow the law. Or, as George Orwell put it, all animals are equal but some animals are more equal than others.

(CNSNews.com) – The Obama administration has granted one-year waivers to 28 separate local chapters of the United Food and Commercial Workers Union (UFCW), exempting them from a requirement under the new health care law that bans annual limits on what insurance plans will pay for medical coverage.

The UFCW’s political action committee spent $673,309 in independent expenditures promoting the election of Barack Obama in 2008.

That PAC–the United Food & Commercial Workers International Union Active Ballot Club–also contributed $1.8 million to Democratic federal candidates in 2008 and $1.7 million to Democratic congressional candidates in 2010.

The HHS waivers to 28 separate UFCW health insurance plans affect 83,563 enrollees.

With not even the most ardent proponents of Obamacare wanting to actually have to follow the law, it’s little wonder Senate Democrats don’t want to have to vote in favor of the bill again.

Irony: School Obama Highlighted In State Of The Union Address Got Exemption From Union Rules

During his State of the Union address President Obama – who has opposed charter schools and school choice programs which allow parents, students and schools to get around the death grip teachers unions have on our education system – used the Bruce Randolf school in Denver as an example of how education is improving in America:

When President Barack Obama spotlighted a successful school in his State of the Union speech, he picked Bruce Randolph School in Denver.

“Take a school like Bruce Randolph in Denver,” the president said. “Three years ago, it was rated one of the worst schools in Colorado. Last May, 97 percent of seniors received their diploma.”

So what sparked this school’s success? The answer is a bit of an inconvenient truth for Obama and his union allies:

Bruce Randolph was a middle school when it opened in 2002. In 2007, Denver Public Schools gave Bruce Randolph School permission to operate autonomously. It was the first school in the state to be granted autonomy from district and union rules.

Each teacher then had to reapply for his or her job. A published report said only six teachers remained.

It’s almost like teacher’s unions are bad for education or something.
